Ramsey Zebra Crossing Feedback

Overview

A Local Highway Improvement (LHI) scheme has been proposed by the Abbey College Road Safety Group, with support from stakeholders including Ramsey Town Council, to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility in Ramsey. 

As part of this scheme, a zebra crossing is proposed to provide a safe and formal crossing point for students, residents, and other pedestrians. Two potential locations have been identified for consideration:

• High Street, opposite the access to Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse
• Hollow Lane, opposite Ramsey Golf and Bowls Club

The purpose of this consultation is to identify the most suitable location for the crossing, taking into account safety, accessibility, and overall effectiveness.

This survey seeks feedback on the proposed zebra crossing scheme for Ramsey. The survey contains seven short questions and should only take a few minutes to complete. Information you provide may be shared with our consultants, project partners involved in this survey, such as Ramsey Town Council, and Cambridgeshire County Council officers responsible for analysing consultation responses.

You do not have to give us any personal information. We will not publish any personal details you do give us, but may publish your response, and include it in public reports, with personal details removed. Personal data will be held securely, in accordance with data protection legislation. We will only store it for 12 months after the results have been analysed and the report is published.

Why your views matter

Taking part in this survey will help us understand the views and preferences of local residents, Abbey College students, parents/carers and other members of the community regarding the proposed zebra crossing. Your feedback will help us identify which of the two potential locations would provide the greatest benefit for pedestrians and maximise the effectiveness, safety and accessibility of the crossing. The results will be considered alongside other highway, safety and accessibility information when determining the most appropriate location for the proposed crossing. The survey is anonymous, and no identifiable personal information will be collected.
